In August, which became the second month of this resort season, over 2.1 million people spent their vacations in Crimea. This indicator exceeded the last year's figures by 15.3%. The Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov announced this on his Facebook page.
"During the second month of the resort season, from August 1 to 31, more than 2 million 106 thousand tourists have recreated in Crimea. This is 15.3% more than in the same period last year", — the Head of the region wrote.

According to him, in August 70.2% of tourists arrived on the peninsula by cars and buses over the Crimean Bridge, 25% arrived by plane, and 4.5% arrived by train. Less than 1% of the guests arrived in Crimea across the state border of the Russian Federation at the Armyansk, Dzhankoy and Perekop checkpoints.
According to the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea, in just two months of the resort season (from July 1 to September 1) more than 3,539,000 tourists recreated in Crimea. Today, there are 826 accommodation facilities in the Republic that assumed the obligation to work in keeping with all the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Consumer Protection Authority).
It is notable, that hotels on the South Coast were booked by 95%. On average, in Crimea the hotels were booked up to 80%. The booking rate for September-October is 70-80%.
