The performance is based on the play of the same name by Metropolitan of Pskov and Porkhov Tikhon (Shevkunov), the chairman of the Patriarchy Council for Culture. Natalya Slepchenko, a stage director of the A.V. Lunacharsky Sevastopol Academic Russian Drama Theater, directed the performance.

"The plot is based on the history of Tauric Chersonesos. The main characters of the play travel in time with the Gryphon, moving to different eras of the ancient polis. They get to know Gykia, Xanthus, Princess Anne, Prince Vladimir, Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, Dasha Sevastopolskaya, and at the end of the trip they find themselves in the times of the heroic defense of the city during the Great Patriotic War," the museum representatives told.
More than 300 light and sound effects, multimedia decorations, combined mechanical dolls, colorful costumes, meters-big inflatable structures will be used on the stage during the performance. More than 100 actors, stuntmen and ballet dancers participate in the project.
Performances will be on June 11-13, as well as June 16, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 and 30. The beginning is at 09:15 p.m. This year, the organizers plan to host 20 thousand spectators. The tickets are available on the project website.
For the first 2 seasons in 2019 and 2020 the performances were attended by more than 30 thousand residents and guests of Sevastopol. In 2019 the premiere of the play, timed to coincide with the celebration of the Day of the Christening of Rus, was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
