This statement was made by the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko within the framework of the ‘Investments in the development of a healthy country. Figures. Facts. Opportunities’ Forum, organized by the Health Tourism Association with the support of Rostourism.
"This is not a specific rehabilitation, since the disease is not investigated enough yet. Programs include additional diagnostics and procedures aimed at restoring breathing function, strengthening immunity, and so on. Crimea has historically been a health resort where respiratory tract diseases were treated first of all. Therefore, this direction, which is very much in demand against the background of the pandemic, will develop in the future," Vadim Volchenko said.
According to him, I.M. Sechenov Research Institution; Children's Balneology, Physiotherapy and Medical Rehabilitation Institution and Georgievsky Medical Academy are working on the development of Covid-19 programs in Crimea. But at the same time it is necessary to combine efforts in this direction with other scientific institutions of the Russian Federation.
According to the Minister, to date the occupancy of rooms in a number of health resorts reaches in Saki 70%, in Yalta 60% and in Eupatoria 64%. At the same time, part of the vouchers for health improvement was acquired under the program of stimulation of affordable domestic tourist trips, developed by Rosturizm. The second stage of the program involved 85 Crimean accommodation facilities, including 14 health resorts.
