"The objective reality is that we cannot spend the holiday as we are used to and expect. However, for the guests and residents of Yalta, we are obliged to create a New Year's mood. We are starting the installation of New Year's decorations and light illumination – the equipment which was purchased last year. This is more than 1000 units − by mid-December Yalta will dress in a New Year's outfit," said the acting Head of the resort city, first deputy mayor Yanina Pavlenko.
So, on the Day of St. Nicholas − December 19 − a traditional Christmas Tree party will take place in the city for the city kids and the guests of Yalta, as well as the simultaneous switch on of the New Year's illumination on the city promenade.
In addition, congratulations, fireworks and a fair are planned for residents and guests of the resort.
"In order to maintain the festive mood, it was decided to organize congratulations of Yalta residents without big gathering of people. So, for example, an orchestra will march down the streets, the musicians dressed as Santa Claus, and they will perform traditional New Year music. The traditional fireworks are also planned. Also on the territory of the Yalta municipality the popular New Year's fair will be held, organized with a deliberate care, placing the "huts" at a safe distance," the administration of the resort assured.
We remind you, that in accordance with the decree of the Head of the Republic of Crimea, all public events are prohibited in Crimea from December 20 to January 15, including on the territory of accommodation facilities and on city squares.
