The Travel portal of the Republic of Crimea offers some simple tips that will preserve health and warmth in one-day walking tours through the beautiful landscapes of the peninsula.

So, if you decide to have a snack and relax on a sandy beach, it is important to remember that the wind plays easily with grains of sand, which in the most unexpected way can be found in food, drinks and in your things. Therefore, it is more convenient to take with you to a sandy beach fast food that does not require flatware and cutlery. Sandwiches, pizza or pies are suitable for a perfect picnic on the beach. It is better to drink ready-made warming drinks from a thermos flask. A karrimat, which can easily be cleaned of sand, will become a reliable assistant, and high shoes − so that you could have all chances to run along the surf line and not have the boots half-full of the beach sand.

On pebble beaches it is convenient to play ball or Frisbee. You can warm water for tea or coffee on the burner right on the shore, and if you do not have a karrimat, just lay a thick towel on the stones. By the way, keep in mind that on the South Coast the sun sets earlier than on the West Coast, which means that in order to meet the evening and not freeze, a warm jacket or plaid will come in handy.

Mountains

What to take with you:

1. Warm clothes

2. Comfortable shoes

3. Burner

4. Thermos mug/flask

5. Charged mobile phone

6. Flashlight

First of all, it should be kept in mind that in the mountains it is always cooler by 2-5 degrees than at the foot, it is humid and quite often windy. Therefore, it will not be odd to take along a spare light jacket (preferably fleece) or even a warm jacket.  In order not to freeze, it is enough to take a dense windbreaker or a thin waterproof downy jacket that fits easily in a backpack.

Because of sudden changes in temperature, the soil or stones under the feet of tourists are almost always wet.  Therefore, it is important to wear shoes with non-slip soles.  You can help yourself with sticks for Nordic walking or pick up an even and firm stick.

The Crimean peaks must be conquered wisely.  Rockfalls often occur in the mountains and it gets dark suddenly.  Therefore, calculate your travel time in advance in order to be able to return to your destination before dark.  A charged smartphone helps you stay connected throughout the day.  To keep warm, you can take a thermos flask with you or make a drink on the burner without making camp-fires.

Forest

Autumn in Crimea

Crimean forests in the autumn "breathe" with peace and peculiar beauty. Crowns of trees are full of various shades of fading warmth, fallen leaves gently rustling underfoot, merging into an autumn duet with your steps. If you are one of those who are looking for autumn comfort in nature, you should visit the Crimean forests.

There are many routes on the Internet, a walk along which will give aesthetic pleasure and peace of mind. Before the trip, it is advisable to draw up a clear plan of travelling and pre-calculate the time.

In the autumn months the land in the forests does not dry out from moisture. Therefore, it is very important for safety and warmth to choose high shoes with thick non-slip soles. Slippery mud is often hidden under a beautiful carpet of leaves. In these cases Nordic walking sticks or a wooden stick can be helpful. If your route runs along ponds or waterfalls, do not come close to the water's edge − in autumn the banks become boggy because of moisture.

Golden autumn is rich in fruits − dogwood, hazel nuts, various berries grow in the forests of the peninsula, and "mushroom families" lay underfoot. Remember that you can pick only familiar berries and mushrooms and that you should not eat them right there in the forest − it is advisable to wash and cook them properly.

And yet… Wherever you go to contemplate the autumn beauty in Crimea, take a garbage bag with you − nature is too tender and defenseless, it reveals its beauty and it is not difficult to pay it back with elementary humanity.
