The first "Intourmarket. Open Crimea" inter-regional tourism forum has started. It gathered on the online platform representatives of Rostourism, federal and republican governments, as well as representatives of the authorities of the tourist regions of Russia, business, and non-government organizations.
This year, for the first time, the two large-scale industry events – the "Intourmarket International Tourism Exhibition" and the "Open Crimea All-Russian Tourism Forum" − have been united to jointly work in the main areas of domestic tourism development.
The two-day event was organized by the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea and the Expotour company with the informational support from Rostourism.

More than 70 authoritative industry speakers connected to the forum online and in total participants from more than 40 regions of the Russian Federation were registered: these are representatives of the authorities and tourist business of the republics of Tatarstan and Kalmykia, the Nenets Autonomous Area, Khanty-Mansiysk, Murmansk, Kaliningrad, Rostov, Tver, Irkutsk, Kaluga, Pskov regions, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar Territory and others. Among the speakers there are also representatives of the Samara region, which acts as a partner region of the Forum.
"This year we have organized the authoritative federal tourism forum − "Intourmarket. Open Crimea" − for the first time in Crimea. With the director of the Intourmarket International Travel Exhibition Olga Khotochkina, we agreed beforehand to set up the autumn stage of the Forum as the main platform in the country on the eve of the new tourist year. These are the features of the times that have transformed most activities into an online format. The most important topics of today were put into the program: domestic tourism and work under existing restrictions, as well as investment in labor resources, ecology and protected areas, rural and yacht tourism, event and business tourism," said the Head of the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko.
As Olga Khotochkina added in her turn, that most of the Forum events will be held online, but this does not mean that there will be no heated discussions.
"The program of our joint sections will touch upon all the most demanded issues in the industry. We will discuss support measures for business – are they sufficient for business, as well as modern digital technologies. We will answer many legal questions in tourism. In the program of the "Intourmarket. Open Crimea" Forum everything is extremely practical and important in conditions of "stable instability," Olga Khotochkina summed up.
The program of the two-day forum includes a plenary session, a workshop, a lecture-workshop, an expert section, as well as presentation and strategy sessions.
So, today the plenary session "Domestic tourism in Russia and COVID-19: preservation or development" will begin the work of the Forum. Participants will discuss global trends in the development of the tourism industry in post-COVID reality, the development of domestic tourism against the background of open borders, as well as trends in business and event tourism.
On the second day of the Forum, November 19, the strategic session "Yacht tourism in Russia: current situation and development prospects" will be held. Speakers will discuss government support measures, a development concept, new locations and routes, as well as dispel the myth about the premium quality of yacht tourism. Another session will focus on the development of rural tourism in the context of government support mechanisms and the use of agricultural land for recreation and tourism infrastructure.
In addition, the prospects for the development of ecological tourism in Russia will be discussed: tourist projects in specially protected natural areas, international experience, eco-standards and eco-technologies in the hospitality industry, government support and opportunities for making accommodation facilities and beach areas ecologically safe.
