The flight from Sochi was welcomed in the Crimean air harbor with a water arch. The tourist Number Six Million was a guest from Sochi, Anastasia Khlevnaya, who arrived on a Rossiya airline plane. The guest's plans include recreation and acquaintance with the sights of Crimea.
A ceremonial meeting was organized in the terminal with participation of the Director-General of the Simferopol International Airport, LLC Evgeniy Plaksin, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko, official representative of Rossiya Airlines Sergey Starikov and representative of the Southern Interregional Territorial Air Transport Administration of the Federal Air Transport Agency in the Republic of Crimea Irina Pleshcheyeva.
"Simferopol Airport is one of the best practices regarding the level and quality of service, a modern approach to receiving tourists. You know that there is an instruction from the President to increase the tourists flow up to 10 million by 2025, we are currently receiving more than 8 million. And we understand that the logistics component is one of the most important points related to both the airport, road and railway component. Intense summer traffic is very good, this is our advantage. But we need good traffic even outside the season, and Crimea is utterly adapted to this," said Vadim Volchenko.
Anastasia received a certificate for service in the VIP-hall of the airport and souvenirs, a certificate for a free flight with the Rossiya airline, souvenirs from the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea and a travel kit from the Travel Crimea Tourist Portal.
"Simferopol Airport for the first time in its history served 6 million passengers during a calendar year. I am sure that this is a landmark event not only for our company, but for the entire peninsula. It is especially pleasant that we have reached such a historic milestone in the airport's 85th anniversary year. In 2021 all historical records were significantly updated: in terms of passenger traffic, geography of flights, and the number of flights served. The airport staff successfully coped with high traffic, ensured reliable transport accessibility of the peninsula when the demand from residents of other regions of the country for flights to Crimea increased," said Evgeniy Plaksin, Director-General of the Simferopol International Airport.
Note that in October the Rossiya airline launched year-round flights between Simferopol and Sochi for the first time. Flights are made daily by SSJ-100 aircraft, travel time is 50 minutes.
"The route, new for the airline, connects the largest resort cities. Thanks to this, the largest winter resort in Russia, Yasnaya Polyana, will become more accessible to Crimeans, and the sights of the Crimea will become more accessible to the residents of Sochi. The line operates domestic-made aircraft Superjet 100 with two-class cabins. Today we see that the passenger occupancy of this flight is close to 100% in both directions, which proves that it is in demand among passengers," the official representative of Rossiya Airlines, Sergei Starikov said.
