Crimea plans to develop marine and coastal tourism. Now a project is being developed for reconstruction of the existing and construction of new ports and yacht marinas in the coastal cities of the peninsula. The Head of the Republic Sergey Aksyonov announced this at the final press conference.
He emphasized that back in the 90s, marine tourism was one of the most attractive types of tourism in Crimea − 2-2.5 million people annually used water transport for tourism purposes then. Now it is about 50-70 thousand people.

"The popularity of this type of tourism is enormous, and now a feasibility study is being prepared for a project related to the construction and reconstruction of yacht marinas and ports. We will get it done by mid-2021, the schedule of repairing ports will be prepared and agreed with the federal government," Aksyonov said.
According to him, today about 290 piers and berths need repair. Also, the Republic is faced with the task of updating sea transport, most of which is, according to the Head of the region, in an inadequate condition. The Crimean authorities are negotiating with businesses on this issue.
