The demand for flights to Crimea is recovering rapidly. As the analysts of the Biletix online booking service informed the Travel Portal, starting from May the demand had not been falling as in the whole of Russia, and its recovery rate was well ahead of that in the country.
"The revival of booking for Crimea is 75% for the moment, while for the whole of Russia the 50% increase is expected only by the end of the year", — the experts informed.
The average price for flights to Crimea in June decreased by more than 40% compared to the last year level.
"The average round-trip ticket price to Crimea from the cities of Russia for June 1-18, 2020 is 8,173 rubles (≈$ 117), while for the same period in 2019 it was 13,831 rubles (≈$ 198)", — the analysts of the Biletix online booking service informed the Travel Portal.
The geography of inbound flights is wide, however, Muscovites (55%) and residents of St. Petersburg (11%) buy more tickets to Simferopol than others. The share of tourists with children has not changed compared to the last year (2019 − 22.9%, 2020 − 22.2%), and the average stay in Crimea increased from 12 to 13 days.
As previously reported by the press service of the Simferopol airport, in June the airport would increase its route network by four times. 8 airlines carried out flights from the capital of the Republic to 11 destinations in May, in June applications for flights to another 35 Russian cities were already submitted by 14 air carriers.
