Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all the ceremonial events in the regions on the occasion of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory were decided to be postponed to a more favorable time. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with members of the Security Council. 

He instructed the Minister of Defense, the heads of law enforcement bodies, and authorities at all levels to change the schedule and postpone preparations for the May 9 traditional parade on the Red Square, as well as parades in the regions.

At the same time, the President addressed the participants of the Immortal Regiment action, which, among other mass events, will be postponed, saying that he shares their feelings.

"In this regard, I want to appeal directly to the millions of our citizens − participants in the nationwide rally Immortal Regiment. I share your feelings, because myself, not as a President, but by the call of my heart I am abreast of you, I’ve been participating in this impressive, incomparable procession over the past few years", — RIA Novosti quotes Vladimir Putin. 

At the same time, he emphasized that despite the transfer of public events, the Victory Day is celebrated on May 9 proper, this date cannot be canceled.
