What attracts foreign tourists to Crimea and what are the primary tasks for developing the tourist industry the government of the Republic sets for the coming three years – all this the head of Crimea told in the interview with the Extra Plus magazine from Slovakia.
In Crimea an increase is marked in the number of tourists from China and Vietnam who are interested in the Soviet historical heritage, as well as medicinal and healing facilities of the Crimean health resorts, said the head of the Republic Sergei Aksyonov in his interview with the Extra Plus magazine, Slovakia.
"The number of tourists from these countries is really growing. For example, the number of Chinese citizens, who visited the peninsula, increased 2.5 times in 2018 in comparison with 2017. About 10 travel agencies are working on bringing in tourists from China", — said Sergei Aksyonov.
At the same time, according to him, Ukrainians are the leaders among foreign tourists − in 2019 more than a million guests from the neighboring country had spent their vacations on the peninsula. This is 40% of the total foreign tourist flow. Then in descending order: tourists from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Estonia. Germany is the leader among the distant countries, whose tourists make 7% of the total number of foreigners in the region.

"The strategic goal of the tourist industry development in the next 2-3 years is to increase the capacity of accommodation facilities by increase in the number of guest rooms, adding at least 4-5 thousand rooms, and within five years − up to 20 thousand rooms. Special attention will be paid to the development of medicinal, event, historical and educational tourism", — concluded the head of the Republic.
