"The Golden Ring of the Bosporan Kingdom" tourism project achieved the prestigious Traveler`s Award 2019, which is traditionally held by the National Geographic, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Crimea Republic informed.
The award ceremony took place recently in Moscow. As the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Crimea Republic Vadim Volchenko noted, the project is successfully developing and it achieves the prestigious Russian and international awards quite deservedly.
"According to expert opinion, such a project was first created in the entire recent history of Russia, it is able to increase the tourist flow in the region by 10 percent or more. A huge number of exhibits in Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory and the Rostov Region were joined thanks to the Crimean Bridge, and the development of this project will receive an additional boost with the launch of railway communication", — said Vadim Volchenko.
The cities with ancient history in the South of Russia are popular not only in the holiday season, but also in the off-season. As it was already reported, tourists choose many of those cities to celebrate the New Year. So, the rating list includes Kerch, Theodosia, Eupatoria in the Crimea Republic and the city of Sevastopol, as well as Sochi, Gelendzhik and Anapa in the Krasnodar Territory.
"The Golden Ring of the Bosporan Kingdom" is a cross-regional tourist route jointly developed by the relevant departments of the Krasnodar Territory, the Crimea Republic, Sevastopol and the Rostov Region. The project makes provisions for organization of expeditions and tours, conferences, photo exhibitions and festivals. The overall coordination of the project is carried out by the Russian Geographical Society with the support from the Federal Agency for Tourism. The route positions Russia in the international arena as one of the unique centers of ancient culture and civilization. In April President Vladimir Putin mentioned the route as an example of demonstrating the diversity of the Russian history.
