Since the beginning of the year, more than 5.8 million tourists have visited Crimea, and many of them were residents of the neighbouring and far countries. The Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the region Vadim Volchenko told about this on the "Sputnik in Crimea" radio.
"Traditionally, a lot of tourists come from Ukraine, last year there were about a million of Ukrainians, and this year, I believe, will be no less. Even Ukrainian border guards claim an increase in passenger traffic to Crimea by 14-15%. In addition, in Crimea this summer was almost the whole world’s palette of arrivals, including Europe: Germany and France", − said Vadim Volchenko.
He also noted that Crimea used to attracted tourists from Germany before as well, they are always interested in historical sites, the ancient heritage and sightseeing tours. And today among Germans there is demand for travels to the Russian Crimea.
"We are glad to see tourists from all over the world, they can feel absolutely comfortable and safe here, and to return to us with pleasure again and again", − the minister summed up.
