By August 1, more than four million tourists visited the peninsula, which is 11% more than in the same period last year. This was announced by the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic Vadim Volchenko.
"The number of tourists, which is the main indicator of the success of the holiday season, continues to grow. As of August 1, we have more than four million and four thousand guests. The growth trend remains at 11% compared to the previous year, which was marked as the record-breaking for the entire post-Soviet history," Mr. Volchenko said.
The increase in tourist flow has a positive effect on the occupancy rate of the Crimean hotels, resort hotels and boarding houses.
"The occupancy rate of the accommodation facilities in Crimea is now 80%, and in some regions more than 90%," the Minister stressed.
"Such figures," the head of the Ministry emphasized, "in the previous year were reached later".
