The South Coast of Crimea is traditionally the centre of tourists attraction, therefore tourist policemen have to patrol the tourist capital – the City of Yalta. They maintain order on the Embankment and the crowded central streets of the city. You can distinguish them by special insignia — sleeve chevrons.
"There are special requirements for employees who serve in the tourist police. They are focused on working with tourists and guests who arrive on vacation to Crimea", — as the press service of the Ministry of Interior in the region informed, — "Employees can easily communicate with foreign tourists in English, and they are constantly improving their language skills".
"They often travel in groups, and practically every visitor has a camera with him and takes a lot of photos. By the way, the citizens of China are very polite and treat the police with respect, do not try to take pictures of them, unlike our compatriots, because in their country it is not recommended to do so without the permission of the authorities," — the press service told us.
"Citizens from the People’s Republic of China try to contact law enforcement officers in Russian", — they added at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea.
Not so long ago a family from Germany asked the police to explain how to get to the Massandra Palace in German, and on weekends many tourists from India and Turkey visit Yalta resort.
"They turn to the police officers mainly in English and try to speak as simply as possible: a simple question returns a simple answer", — the department officials informed us.
