"Simferopol International Airport served 1,216,143 passengers in July, which is 40% more than in the second month of summer in “pre-COVID” 2019. Monthly traffic became the maximum for the entire observation period, exceeding the previous record figures of August 2020 by 50 thousand people," the press service of the air harbor said.
Last month daily passenger traffic peaked on 31 July − 44,385 people were served.
Most often, planes flew to Simferopol in July from Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as from Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Novosibirsk. In total, the air hub served 7,880 flights. And the airlines leader in the number of passengers transported to Crimea and back was Aeroflot.

"Despite the opening of the borders of some popular foreign resorts, the passenger traffic of Simferopol Airport continued to grow in July. In comparison with June the traffic grew by 21%. The number of passengers served within one month has become a record for the entire observation period. For seven months of 2021, the airport has already served 3.75 million people and August is coming − traditionally the most traffic-intensive month of the year," Evgeny Plaksin, Director-General of the Simferopol Airport, said.
