Resorts in the South of Russia are in great demand: June shows record-breaking rates of hotel occupancy in Crimea and Krasnodar Territory. Tourists are interested in them in July too. At the Association of Russian Tour Operators they told about how much the Black Sea resorts are in demand this summer.
According to the forecasts of tour operators, average occupancy of accommodation facilities in Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory will exceed the last year figures both in June and July.
"One of the reasons is seasonal fluctuations. Accommodation prices in June are about 15% lower than in July and August. A huge role was played by the tourist cashback campaign. Possibility to save 20% of a tour cost turned out to be significant for tourists. In July, this factor will cease, as the action ends," the Director General of the Dolphin tour operator Sergei Romashkin explained.
There are few accommodation places left in Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory in June. For example, out of 180 hotels in the Dolphin system on the peninsula, only 7 hotels are available for instant confirmation in the middle of the month (for 7 nights, check-in on June 12).
"The main sales in Crimea have already been over. The occupancy of resorts in June in Yalta in the high price segment reaches 92%, in the middle segment − 87%, in economy segment − 75%," the head of the Crimea section of the ALEAN National Tour Operator Ilya Ilyin said.
The situation with the availability of accommodation in July is better. In the Krasnodar Territory, there are still rooms in almost half of the hotels, in Crimea − in the one third of the hotels. But tour operators are in no hurry to talk about a decrease in demand for these resorts in the summer season.
"Usually, it takes 20-25 days for a tourist to make a decision on a trip. So far, there are different options for hotel booking in the South of Russia: we are waiting for an intensification of demand in July − from June 15-20. Of cource, the occupation rate in June is abnormal, but in general the season is proceeding at the usual pace," Sergei Romashkin said.
