For security reasons and to prevent spread of the coronavirus infection in Russia a temporary restriction on the entry of foreign citizens and stateless persons through the border checkpoints in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol is restricted from March 18. This was reported by the Border Gard Service in the Republic of Crimea.

The exception is only made for certain categories of persons. In particular, accredited or appointed employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states in the Russian Federation, international organizations and their missions, as well as other official missions of foreign states based in Russia. And also for family members of these persons, crews of aircraft and ships, members of official delegations and some other categories.

"We draw attention to the fact that people arriving in the Russian Federation should be prepared for the necessary preventive measures at the checkpoints that may be applied to them, — the Border Guard Service informed. — Under the current situation, citizens of the Russian Federation are advised to refrain from traveling abroad".

The temporary restriction will be effective till May 1.
