Demand for flights to Crimea has grown abruptly. Airline companies request additional flights to the air gate of the peninsula. Due to the increase in passenger flow and in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the airport, the level of sanitary protection has been increased.
Simferopol Airport recorded an increase in demand for transportation to Crimea, airlines request additional flights. This was announced at the meeting of the operational headquarters for emergency by Evgeni Plaksin, the Director General of the Simferopol International Airport.
"Now we witness a sharp increase in requests for flights via Simferopol Airport. For example, as of yesterday, Ural Airlines requested an additional 1,100 flights and we are preparing for an increased passenger flow. We have enough equipment and personnel for this", — said the head of the airport.
In connection with the growing demand and the predicted increase in passenger flow, the Head of the Republic Sergey Aksyonov ordered to enhance sanitary control in the main air gate of Crimea, equipping them with thermographic cameras, antiseptics and ensuring that all safety measures are observed.
"The airport is our main air gate, so it is necessary to organize total surveillance measures there. The airport and the border must be carefully controlled, — Aksenov instructed. — Measures to inspect all 100% of passengers arriving at the airport should be ensured".
Earlier it was reported that Crimean hotels, guest houses and health resorts have enhanced security measures in their accommodation facilities to offer the guests of the peninsula the most comfortable vacations.
