THE MONTH OF MAY IN CRIMEA WILL BE MARKED WITH A REALLY BROAD AND VERY BEAUTIFUL EVENT – THE "CRIMEAN SPRING" FESTIVAL OF HOT-AIR BALOONS. GUESTS OF THE FESTIVAL WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY NOT ONLY EVALUATE THE SKILLS OF PROFESSIONAL AERONAUTS, BUT TO GO UP IN THE SKY THEMSELVES.
According to the aeronautical sport federation of the Republic of Crimea, preparations are underway for the traditional, already sixth, aeronautics festival with the patriotic name "Crimean Spring". From May 1 to 4 everyone can watch the flights of colorful balloons and even ride them at the Karagöz airfield (Kirovsky district) and at the White Rock in Belogorsk.
The organizers plan to hold a big opening of the festival at the Shayderov stadium in Theodosia. And in the evening on the railway station square and on the city embankment, inhabitants and guests of the resort city will be able to observe the glow of balloons and take unforgettable photos.
As for flights, they will be done in the mornings (from 5:30 to 9:00) and in the evenings (from 5:00 to 8:00), when there are no thermal flows (warm rising air). The rest of the time, guests are offered the opportunity to fly paragliders or hang gliders on Mount Klementyev in Koktebel. In addition, an interesting program is planned in the same place with the participation of light aircrafts, in particular − gyroplane.
"By now we plan to engage 15 balloons, but their number may grow up to 30 − if there is a lot of people who want to take a flight. We already keep a list and people are actively enlisting for flights despite the fact that May it is still long to wait. We want to make a glaring opening of the festival so that it really is beautiful, and the guests receive maximum pleasure. At the moment, the program is being finalized and agreed upon", — Denis Volodin, head of the Aeronautical Sports Federation of the Republic of Crimea, told the Travel Portal of Crimea.
