9.3% more tourists spent their vacations in Crimea in 2019 compared to 2018, when the tourism industry of the peninsula set an absolute record for its entire post-Soviet history, having accommodated 6.8 million vacationers. Last year − in 2019 − the total number of tourist arrivals to the peninsula amounted to 7.43 million. This was announced by the head of the Republic Sergei Aksyonov on his Facebook page.

"57% of the guests arrived on the peninsula over the Crimean Bridge, and more than 6 thousand of them − by trains on the railway route opened at the end of the year. In total, more than 2.5 million vehicles passed over the bridge to Crimea", — S.Aksyonov said.

He emphasized that according to the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic, 200 thousand more guests would come to the region during the New Year’s holidays.
