Belbek Airport

Built in 1938 as a military airport, it was used actively during World War II. A fighter aircraft unit was based there in peaceful time, too. A concrete runway was built in the 1950s. In the 1980s, it was expanded for civilian planes, while military aircraft are still based there.
Today the airport is closed to civilian flights and the facilities are under renovation.
