"At the company, almost a half of all summer travels sold were usually early bookings. And now, despite the uncertainty [with the epidemic situation], the demand for summer vacations remains high. In fact, sales of tours for 2021 began in August 2020. And if we compare the volume of sales in October this year and last year, we note an increase by more than 40%", — said the Alean Director-General Ilya Umansky.
According to him, hotels have raised their prices within the "traditional" 10%, but the dynamics of prices will change with an increase in demand. In the period of high demand, the rise in price can reach 25-30%. At the same time, the highest occupancy rate of the resorts is expected from June 15 to August 20, 2021.
Experts also named the top three most popular early booking destinations. These are Sochi, Crimea and Anapa. Even today interest in them has grown more than 2.5 times. According to the forecasts of the Alean specialists, in total these regions will account for about 60% of all summer sales in 2021.
In addition, experts predict an increase in the average travel time − it will be 10 days / 9 nights. This is due to the fact that most tourists prefer to travel by their own transport. As a proof, now every fifth application is for hotels with parking.
