Experts of the tourist portal Turstat presented the ten best cities in Russia for New Year's celebration and holiday travel. 10 thousand visitors of the portal participated in the opinion poll.
"The TOP-10 cities for New Year's travels are Moscow, Sochi, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Pyatigorsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Kaliningrad, Yalta and Vyelikiy Ustyug in the Vologda region", — the analysts of the service reported.
Thus, the TOP-10 includes the Russian capital, three northwestern cities, including the homeland of Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost – the Russian Santa Claus), two resorts on the Black Sea, a North Caucasian resort, two cities on the Volga river and the capital of the Urals.
According to the survey, 23% of votes were cast for Moscow as the best city in Russia for New Year's holidays, 16% − for Sochi, 12% − for St. Petersburg, 9% − for Kazan, for Yekaterinburg and Pyatigorsk − 7% each, for Kaliningrad and Nizhny Novgorod − 6% each, 5% − for Yalta and 2% − for Vyelikiy Ustyug.
