"The passenger traffic of Simferopol airport continues to grow, setting new records. Over the past weekend alone, we served 89 thousand arriving and departing passengers. It exceeds, for example, the figures for the entire April and May of this year combined. The record passenger traffic testifies to the high attractiveness of Crimea as a tourist destination, and air transport as the most convenient, safe and fast way to travel", — said Sergey Dyaykin, Commercial Director of Simferopol International Airport LLC.
611.5 thousand passengers were served in just 16 days in August, which is 26.6% higher than the same indicators of the last year. During the same time, the airport received and departed 3,608 scheduled flights. This is 365 flights more than in the same period in 2019.
Passenger service is carried out in compliance with COVID-19 precaution measures. The airport has organized on-the-go thermometry of the passengers in the arrivals area, and all visitors are subject to thermometry at the entrance to the terminal. Sanitary cleaning of the airport premises is carried out every two to three hours in an intensive mode with the use of disinfectants. Non-contact hand sanitizer dispensers are installed in all areas of the passenger terminal. In addition, airport employees are provided with individual protective equipment, including medical masks, gloves, and disinfectants.
