A salty mud-treatment oval lake, its name means "natural spring" in the Crimean Tatar language. Its width is 3-4 km, and the maximum depth is 1.3 m. The northern part of the lake is separated from the Azov Sea by a spit. The lake is fed by underground hydrosulphuric healing springs and seawater. The lake is part of the Lake Chokrak Hydrological Reserve. The water and mud from Lake Chokrak are used in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases.
