This volcanic mountain range running along the Black Sea coast is part of the Kara-Dag Nature Reserve. The name translates from Turkish as "black mountain". Its highest point is 577 m above sea level. Kara-Dag Mountain has unique flora and fauna, and is home to about 79 species of plants and some 125 species of animals.
