This mountain range is part of the main ridge of the Crimean Mountains, the easternmost yaila (mountain pasture) in Crimea. Its average height is 1,000 m above sea level, and the highest peak of Mount Tai Koba is 1,262 m. Karabi-Yayla is famous for the abundance of various karst cavities — caves, wells, shafts, and numerous craters. Many caves are accessible to tourists, and can be visited without special equipment.
