Cape Alchak, a protected natural landmark, is located to the east of Sudak. It is an old coral reef 152 m high. In 1988, it was given local nature reserve status. Cape Alchak is chiefly valued for its distinctive floristic, geological and mineral complexes. The remains of a Bronze Age settlement and a hoard of coins from the 3rd century Bosporan Kingdom were found at the foot of the mountain.
