The mountain derives its name — the Cat Mountain — from its picturesque form, which resembles a giant cat. It is covered with relic open woodlands. Mount Koshka is the only place in Crimea where Fumana thymifolia grows, and 16 other local plant species are listed in the Red Data Book.
