The 9-metre-tall monument was erected in 1970 at the site where the minesweeper Vzryvatel and its crew were sunk in 1942. The sculptural composition features three marines-paratroopers rushing into battle against the Nazi invaders. The monument is located 6 km up the Yevpatoria-Simferopol Motorway.
