The cathedral was founded in 1881 to commemorate the baptism of Prince Vladimir, but in the course of construction it became a memorial to the heroes of the Crimean War and the burial place of Black Sea Navy admirals. It is a 19th century historical and architectural landmark. Today it is a functioning Orthodox church and a stop on the State Museum of the Heroic Defence and Liberation of Sevastopol tour.

Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm
