The monument to Vladimir Lenin and the square of the same name were unveiled in 1967 to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1917 Revolution. The monument was designed by sculptor Vasily Stamov and architect Vladimir Popov. The 5.5 m tall bronze figure of Vladimir Lenin stands on the base of red polished granite. The figure of Lenin is tilted forward with his left hand resting on the rostrum and his right hand holding sheets of paper. The overall height of the monument is over 10 m.
