The cape is located on the southwestern coast of Crimea, in the Balaklava District of Sevastopol. It is a unique geological landmark of the Middle Jurassic period. Fiolent was formed out of volcanic rocks because it originates from an ancient volcano that was active 150 million years ago. Cold lava can be seen on both sides. The cape is also famous for its beaches.
