The museum dedicated to a legendary sculptor who designed the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman Monument and the thick-glass tumbler project opened in 1985 at the site of the Mukhin family's home, which the future artist often visited as a child. The surviving façade of the building adds a distinctive flair to the museum. The museum had two rooms recreated: a room of gymnasium student Vera Mukhina and part of her workshop with a display of her authentic sculptures, personal items and tools she used in her work.
